This dialog allows you to select a predefined cable configuration, define a new cable configuration, or modify an existing one. Apart from Cable configuration, all the options on this dialog are available for editing or selection only after clicking New or Edit.

To access this dialog, right-click the Cables folder in the Domain Explorer and then on the shortcut menu, select New > Cable.

Cable configuration

Allows you to select an existing cable configuration or type a new cable configuration name when creating or modifying a cable configuration.

Description

Allows you to type a brief configuration description.

Cable type

Allows you to select a cable type.

Cable default name

Allows you to type a cable name that will appear by default on the Cable Properties dialog and in the Domain Explorer when you create a cable using the current configuration.

Cable sets

Cable Set

Allows you to type the individual cable set names.

Cable Set Type

Allows you to select a cable set type.

Cable set wire details

Wire Tag

Allows you to type a name of the wire within the wire set.

Wire Color

Allows you to select a wire color. If the color that you require is not on the list, open the Wire Color dialog where you can add or delete items from the Wire Color list.

Wire Type

Allows you to select a wire type. If the required type is not on the list, open the Wire Type dialog where you can add or delete items from the Wire Type list.

Polarity

Allows you to select the required polarity, for example: +, -, Shield, and so forth.

Copy to all cable sets of current type

These options allow you to apply the current wire tag, wire color, wire type, and polarity details of the selected cable set to all of the cable sets that are based on the same cable set type.

Apply

Copies the wire tag, wire color, wire type, and polarity details of the selected cable set for all of the cable sets that are based on the same cable set type.  (Available when you are creating a new cable configuration or editing an existing one.)

Exclude wire tags

Excludes wire tags of the current cable set while copying the cable set details.
