Use this procedure to open in the Page Editor a spec page from a .psr file.

If you want to open a page that is based on a spec form that was imported in the Administrations module, you must first regenerate this page. You can regenerate a single page or multiple pages in batch mode. For more details, see Regenerate a Specification Page or Regenerate Pages in Batch Mode. For information about importing specification forms, see Import Spec Forms in the Smart Instrumentation Administration Module help.

  1. In the Specifications Module window, select Edit > Page Editor Page Editor icon 16bit.

  2. Select Actions > Open File .

  3. On the Open File dialog, navigate to the folder where your .psr file is located and select the file.

  4. Select OK. After selecting OK, one of the following scenarios is possible:

    • The software automatically opens the .psr file as a page in the Page Editor.

    • The software prompts you to regenerate the page first because some required columns are missing in the page. In this case, select Yes to regenerate the page automatically and then open it in the Page Editor.

    • If the spec item type is not defined in the source .psr file, the software displays the Select Item Type dialog, where you must select the target item type and assign it to the .psr file. Selecting OK on the Select Item Type dialog opens the page in the Page Editor.

If you use UDFs (User Defined Fields) take note of the following: UDFs have an associated selection list for Units of Measure. When you open the psr file for the specification page in Infomaker, make sure Tag field on the General tab is empty unless you want to select a Unit of Measure flag for Pressure or Flow in the Spec UDF.
