Allows you generate a composite specification. In addition to the displayed item, for which you opened this dialog, you can assign other instrument tags to the sections you associated with the current spec form page in the Page Editor.

Document number

Displays the composite spec document number the software generates automatically. You can modify the document number as you require. By default, the document number of a composite spec always contains the number of the source item as part of the name string. The document number appears on a print preview of the spec.

Assign instrument tags to sections

Allows you to assign instrument tags to the sections the current composite spec contains.

Section

Displays all sections the current spec contains, including the header section, and the loop section (if such sections exist in the spec). You cannot assign instruments to the header or loop section.

Process Function

Displays the section process function. After you select Assign under Tag Assignment, the software allows you to search for instruments you can assign to the section. You can only assign instruments whose process function is the same as the section process function.

Section Item Type

Displays the section item type, which can be ether Instrument or Loop. A header section always belongs to the Instrument item type because you can only create a header section for an instrument composite specification.

Tag Assignment

Allows you to open the Find Items dialog, where you find and select tags whose process function is the same as the section process function.

Assigned Items

Displays the instrument tags you selected on the Find Items dialog. If you are generating a

Clear

Clears the assigned instruments apart from the instrument for which you opened the New Composite Specification dialog.

OK

Generates a composite specification that includes the items that you assigned to the spec sections.
