Smart Instrumentation Version
13.1

This workflow is very similar to workflow 4 except in this instance the copied instrument is published to Smart Instrumentation before it is deleted from the first Smart P&ID drawing.

The Overwrite task is not dependent on the Marked for Deletion preference being selected.

MFD-05A

  1. An instrument is created in a Smart P&ID drawing and is published to Smart Instrumentation.

  2. After publication to Smart Instrumentation a Create task is added to the To Do List.

  3. The Create task is run from the To Do List and the new instrument is created in the Domain Explorer in Smart Instrumentation.

  4. From the Smart P&ID drawing (1) the instrument is copied to a new drawing (2).

The instrument has been copied to the new Smart P&ID drawing with no changes and has not been cut or deleted from the first drawing.

  5. The second drawing is then published to Smart Instrumentation where an Overwrite task is created in the To Do List.

An Overwrite task is created and not a Create task in Smart Instrumentation because the instrument already exists, even though the instrument is from a different drawing.

  6. The instrument in drawing 1 is deleted from drawing 1 and the drawing republished to Smart Instrumentation.

  7. A Marked for Deletion task is created in the Smart Instrumentation To Do List.

  8. There now exist 2 tasks for the same instrument in the To Do List, the Overwrite task and the Marked for Deletion task. If you now run the Overwrite task, the Marked for Deletion task is removed and the instrument in Smart Instrumentation has its Unique ID number updated to that of the instrument in the second P&ID drawing.

If you change the Mark for Deletion task to Delete and run the Delete task the instrument is deleted from Smart Instrumentation, but the Overwrite task is not removed from the To Do List. Refreshing the To Do List or regenerating the task turns the Overwrite task into a Create task.
