Using this dialog, you create the data link for importing data from Smart P&ID into Smart Instrumentation.

Before using this dialog, you must first complete certain prerequisites. For details, see Prerequisites for Importing Smart P&ID Data.

Smart P&ID Plant Hierarchy

In this section, you select the plant group from which you want to retrieve data in the Smart P&ID database.

Tree

This area displays the plant hierarchy in the Smart P&ID database (for example Site-Plant-Unit). You can double-click the folders to expand them. Selecting a folder displays its contents in the Contents area.

Contents

This area displays the contents of the selected folder. You can select a plant, one or more units, or one or more drawings to specify the drawings to be used to select the data for import.

Open Plant

Opens the Smart P&ID plant group that you require.

Item types

Select the Smart P&ID item types that you require to filter the imported data for the drawings you select in the Contents data window. The item types you select become available as source data in the import link.

All item types

Select to use data for all the item types.

Run link group automatically

Select to include all the links in the Smart P&ID group for batch mode import. You can add any link in this group, and it will be included in the batch run. It is recommended the first time you import data to clear this check box so that on selecting OK, you can then open the links to check the data mapping for each link and make any modifications if required.

Use attribute list

Select this check box to use the attributes you selected in the Item Attributes dialog. This option is useful where you have a large quantity of data in the source and you only want to import data for specified attributes of the selected item types. Note that if you select to use the attribute list, in any case the software imports data for unselected attributes that appear in the import link. Clear the check box to import data for all the attributes of the selected item types.

Attributes

Opens the Item Attributes dialog to allow you to select the item attributes for which you want to import data.
