This dialog enables you to create an additional group of terminals on an existing terminal strip or I/O card. The terminal numbering pattern is based on an existing configuration.

To access this dialog, in the Domain Explorer, right-click a terminal strip to which you want to add a group of terminals and then on the shortcut menu, select Actions > Add Terminals.

Note that this dialog does not allow you to save the changes you make to an existing terminal strip configuration. The software applies the changes only to the group of terminals you are currently adding.

Configuration name

Allows you to select a configuration name from the list. The configuration determines the labeling pattern of the terminals. The configurations are defined on the Strip Terminal Configuration dialog. Note that any changes you make on this dialog to the configuration values are used only for creating the new group of terminals and cannot be saved to the database.

Configuration description

Displays a brief description of the current strip configuration, if one exists. The value is read-only.

Total number of terminals

Allows you to type or select the required number of new terminals to be added.

First terminal of added group

Allows you to type or select a starting number for the first terminal in the added group of terminals. It is recommended that you enter a starting number that relates to the existing terminal numbers.

Number of terminals per channel

Allows you to type or select the required number of terminals per channel. This option is available only when you create a group of terminals for an I/O card. If you set the number to 0 (zero), the terminals on the I/O card are created without channels.

Terminal Numbering Pattern

This data window displays how the terminals in the new group are numbered.

Prefix

Allows you to type a prefix for the terminal if required.

Incremented

Increments the terminal number within the pattern.

Numbered

Makes the number of the terminal appear between the prefix and the suffix.

Suffix

Allows you to type a suffix for the terminal if required.
