This dialog displays statistics and revision data of a binder package, and allows you to create and edit the name, description, and other general properties of the binder package. You use the General tab folder for the following tasks:

  • Creating a new binder package. The required fields are Name and Description.

  • Renaming a binder package. Note that Smart Instrumentation does not allow you to change the name or the description of a binder package after you perform a revision.

  • Entering purchase order number and requisition number for the binder package. You also have the option of applying these fields to the tags currently in the binder package and to those that you add in the future.

To access this tab folder, in the Document Binder window tree view, select a binder package. On the Actions menu, select New Binder Package or Properties, and select the General tab.

Binder package type

When creating a new binder package, you can select whether the package type is a Specification Binder package or a General Document Binder package.

Type or edit the required name of the binder package. You cannot change the value in this field after a revision.

Description

Purchase order number

Type or edit the purchase order number. You can change the value in this field at any time (available for Specification Binder packages only).
