Use this dialog to edit the unit of measure codes if your language environment does not support certain code characters used in the default language environment. You can use an alternative code to replace the default one.

Units of measure code
The units of measure codes are hard-coded in the database by default and serve as a reference; however, you can modify the codes as required. Unit of measure codes accept up to ten characters. Unit of measure codes must be unique.
On some Oracle platforms, some special characters occupy two bytes in the database and, therefore, Smart Instrumentation treats them as two characters, for example, a degree character or power factors. As a result, unit of measure codes that seemingly include ten characters (the maximum allowed) are in fact longer. When you select OK to update the unit of measure codes, the software displays various error messages on finding such strings. If you come across such a problem, you have to select All Defaults to resolve the problem.
Unit of measure name
In the Units of measure name column, the units of measure names are hard-coded in the database for shipped units of measure. For custom units of measure, select the Properties button to modify.
Unit of measure type
In the Unit of measure type column, the units of measure types are hard-coded in the database for shipped units of measure. For custom units of measure, select the Properties button to modify.
Enabled
In the Enable column, you can select units of measure to enable or disable. Deselect a checkbox to disable the unit of measure. You cannot disable all units of measure for a unit of measure type. Every type must have at least one enabled unit of measure.
Update the units of measure in calculation and process data fields only
Select to update the units of measure codes only in process data and calculation fields that appear in process data, calculation, and calculation sheets.
New
