In this window, you can generate a print preview of the current Bill of Material. In addition, you can do the following:

  • Enter the number of hook-up items that you actually plan to order. You can type the number in the For Order fields in the Total Qty/For Order column.

  • Include the list of associated tags in the Bill of Material printout.

  • Examine each page individually. Use the zoom icon to view the detail you want to check.

  • Save the Bill of Material as an external file.

  • Add a revision to the Bill of Material revision archive.

  • View a list of archived Bill of Material revisions.

  • Compare two archived Bills of Material, or compare the currently previewed Bill of Material with an archived Bill of Material, and generate a comparison report.

Report Header Area Options

Allow you to select or clear the following options:

Print BOM together with the tag list

Allows you to include the associated tags and spare instruments in the Bill of Material printout.

Each hook-up on new page

Allows you to insert a page break before every hook-up when printing out the tag list together with the bill of material. This check box is available only if the Print BOM together with the tag list check box is selected.

Group by manufacturer

Allows you to group Bill of Material data by item manufacturer.

Sort by

Allows you to sort data according to a specific column in the Bill of Material report. This list contains options that correspond to column headings in the report area, below the report header.

Ascending order

Displays the values in the Bill of Material report column fields in ascending order.

Edit mode

Enables you specify the number of hook-up items you want to order. You can type the numeric value in the Total Qty/For Order column, under the value designating the total quantity of the hook-up items. The software does not save the For Order values in the print preview but only displays them in the Bill of Material printout.

Report Header Area

Displays the source the Bill of Materials source data as it appears in the printout.

Hook-Up Type

Displays the hook-up type of the source hook-ups. If you generated a Bill of Material for more than one hook-up type, the software does not display the hook-up type name because it is only possible to display one hook-up type name in the report header.

Hook-Up

Displays the hook-up for which you generated a Bill of Material. If you generated a Bill of Material for more than one hook-up or for a hook-up type, the software does not display the hook-up name. It is only possible to display the hook-up type name in the report header when generating a Bill of Material for a specific hook-up.

Item Library

Displays the active item library.

Item Sub-Library

Displays the item sub-library associated with the hook-up for which you generated a Bill of Material. If you generated a Bill of Material for more than one hook-up or for a hook-up type, the software does not display the item sub-library name because items can belong to different sub-libraries in the active item library.

Report Body

Displays the Bill of Materials data as it appears in the printout.

Item Number

Displays the item numbers assigned to all the hook-ups involved in the current Bill of Material. The software displays each item only once, including those items that are assigned to more than one hook-up.

Description

Displays the item description as defined on the Hook-Up Item Properties dialog.

Total Qty

Displays the total quantity of items calculated automatically according to the calculation formula. For details, see Calculating the Total of Hook-Up Items for a Bill of Material.

For Order

Allows you to type a number of items you actually want to order. It is possible to define this value after selecting the Edit mode check box. The software does not save the For Order values in the print preview but only displays them in the Bill of Material printout.

The other values in the report body, such as item description, manufacturer, size, and so forth, are displayed as defined on the Hook-Up Item Properties dialog.
