You use this dialog to connect to an external database file so that you can use the macro data from that external database when generating a loop drawing.

The external database file with source macros must not reside in the Smart Instrumentation home folder.

Database type

Allows you to select a source database type. Your selection determines what dialog options are available.

Data source (only for ODBC)

Allows you to select an ODBC profile name.

If you selected an ODBC platform, select the required source database profile, for example .dbf files, ASCII files, and so forth.

Global path (only for ODBC)

Displays the global path set by the System Administrator.

Server (only for Oracle or SQL Server database platform)

Allows you to type the server name that you use to connect to the database server: You need to enter the alias name to connect to Oracle or server name to connect to SQL Server.

Database schema logon name (only for Oracle or SQL Server database platform)

Allow you to type the logon name required to connect to the source domain in the database server.

Database schema logon password (only for Oracle or SQL Server database platform)

Allows you to type the logon password required to connect to the source domain in the database server. The password is displayed masked.

OK

Establishes the connection to the macro source database and closes this dialog. After selecting Clear, closes the dialog without making the connection.

Clear

Clears the current settings and returns you to the default ( Database type: ODBC, Data source: dBASE Files=Microsoft dBase Driver (*.dbf)). After selecting this command, you can enter new connection parameters.
