This dialog allows you to generate local signals at the terminal strip level. This can be a local tag signal for a selected tag number, or a general signal.
To open this dialog, in the Connection window, select Actions > Manage Local Signals.
Find tag number
Allows you to find a specific tag number in the data window.
Sort by
Allows you to sort data in the data window by tag numbers or by signals.
Data Window
Displays the existing general signals and the wiring tag numbers that are not linked with device panels.
Tag Number
Displays the wiring tag numbers that are not linked with device panels.
Signal
Displays the existing tag signals and general signals in the current <plant>. Tag signals are those that appear next to tag numbers from which they originate.
Tag Signal
Create
Creates a tag signal for the selected tag number. This option is available if you selected a tag number that is not associated with a signal.
General Signal
These options allow you to create, edit, and link general signals.
New
Creates a new general signal.
Edit
Enables editing of the name of a selected general signal.
Link
Opens a dialog to link the selected general signal with tag signals.
After creating a signal connected to a device panel both the tag number and the signal name no longer appear in this dialog. Creating a signal that is connected to a device panel requires that any further actions be carried out through the device panels user interface, Wiring Module > Actions > Device panels.
