The Message Ribbon appears below the Modules toolbar when the software has information that you need to know or act on.

The Message Ribbon is displayed when working in the EDE, Query Builder, SQL Editor, or As-Built and when using the Find Items functionality or integration To-Do-List.

There are five different types of messages, each message has its own color:

Successful.Message Ribbon Successful

Green ribbon, indicates that the requested action was completed successfully.

This message only appears for about five seconds before closing.

Warning triangle spec editor Warning

Yellow ribbon, indicates a problem that you should be aware of, for example that the EDE you are opening is a view only EDE.

Error.Message Ribbon Error

Red ribbon, indicates an error has occurred, for example the item contains invalid data.

Information icon Information

Blue ribbon, displays information that is neither a warning or an error.

Instruction_Icon Instruction

Grey ribbon, displays an instruction or tip, for example after performing an action you must select Refresh to see your changes.

SHARED Tip If more than one message is generated at the same time, their icons appear together in the message ribbon. Select on an icon to view the message related to the icon.

Select FutherInfo_Message Ribbon.fw (Open Message Details) to view any further information that maybe available.

All the messages generated during your current session, apart from Successful, are saved in a buffer for you to view during your current session.

To open the buffer and view a specific message:

  1. Select EDE_Drop_Down_list (Expand Container) on the Message Ribbon.

  2. Scroll down the list and select the message you want to view.

  3. To delete a specific message from a group of messages select X (Delete).

    OR

    To delete all the messages from a specific group, select Clear All.

When you close the message or switch to another task or module the buffer is cleared.
