Allows you to select one or more items that belong to the same item type and then proceed to the Delete Specifications dialog, where you can delete specifications in batch mode.

You can use two different ways to find items:

  • You can specify search parameters and find specific items. When specifying search parameters, you can use wildcards.

  • You can leave all the search parameter fields empty and find all the existing items that belong to a specific item type.

Item type

Allows you to select a specific item type.

Search parameters

Enable you to enter search parameters that narrow down your search. Search parameters depend on the item type that you selected. You can narrow your search to the maximum by entering all the search parameters. Leaving some of the Search parameter boxes empty widens the search. It is up to you which search parameters to specify. If you do not want to narrow down your search, leave the fields that you do not need blank. You can leave all the fields empty to find all the available items in the current <unit> or <plant>, or specify only some of the search parameters that narrow down your search accordingly.

If needed, use the following wildcards in the text fields: underscore ( _ ) for single characters, and percent ( % ) for multiple characters.

  • If the selected item type is Instrument, the Tag class list only displays tag classes whose tags can be associated with specifications, that is Conventional, Fieldbus, and Telecom.

  • If the selected item type is Instrument, it is possible to enter a range of dates for deleting specifications and by date. This allows you to narrow your search to tags that you created from the first date through the second date.

  • If an instrument tag has process data cases, you can select specifications for deletion on a per case basis. If a tag is assigned to multiple cases and you do not select a specific case value from the Case list, in the Search results data window, the software displays the same tag number as many times as there are cases that are assigned to the tag. The specific cases are displayed in a separate column.
