Allows you to specify the type of the composite page you are about to create. After you specify the composite page type, you open a dialog where you select one or more sections and displays them in the Page Editor. The software only allows you to specify the composite page type if the appropriate sections exist in Smart Instrumentation. For example, if you have not defined any loop sections, or have not restored sections belonging to the Loop item type, you cannot create a composite loop page.
The software only allows you to specify the composite page type if the appropriate sections exist in Smart Instrumentation. For example, if you have not defined any loop sections, or have not restored sections belonging to the Loop item type, you cannot create a composite loop page. To restore sections that you require, you need to restore the source spec form that includes the composite page with these section. For details, see Restore Library Forms.
Instrument composite page
Data sections with headers
Allows you to create an instrument composite page for generating a spec that includes several instruments whose functionality is interrelated, for example, a control valve and I/P converter. You can include in such a composite page sections whose process functions are not identical.
Header section and data section
Allows you to create an instrument composite page for incorporating process data cases of the same instrument into a single spec. The header section of such a specification includes all data field headers, which are common to process data cases. The data section is a section without any headers. It only contains data fields whose values vary depending on a particular process data case of the instrument.
Loop composite page
Allows you to create a loop composite page. A loop composite page contains one data section with the Loop item type and one or more data sections with the Instrument item type. These sections must be defined as data sections with headers.
