The following commands are used when using the Link Explorer in the Import Utility. Note that your screen might not always display all the icons because of the screen space limitation. You can open the Preferences dialog to customize the way the toolbar is displayed.

Open Document icon 16bit File > Open

Opens the Select Plant Hierarchy dialog to select the target <unit>.

Exit Icon 16bit File > Exit

Exits the current import session.

Options > PDS

Opens the PDS Login dialog to import P&ID data from a PDS database. This option is only available after the Domain Administrator retrieves the PDS links from the IN_CTLOG.DDTI file.

Options > Fisher

Opens the Fisher dialog to import data from data from a Fisher ASCII file. This option is only available after the Domain Administrator retrieves the Fisher links from the IN_CTLOG.DDTI file.

Options > Masoneilan

Opens the Masoneilan dialog to import data from data from a Masoneilan ASCII file. This option is only available after the Domain Administrator retrieves the Masoneilan links from the IN_CTLOG.DDTI file.

PPM All Outputs Graphic Options > Smart P&ID

Opens the Smart P&ID dialog, where you define settings for importing Smart P&ID data into Smart Instrumentation. Before using this option, you must first complete certain prerequisites. This option is only available after the Domain Administrator retrieves the Smart P&ID links from the IN_CTLOG.DDTI file.

Options > Flowserve Performance

Opens the Flowserve Performance! dialog to import data from data from a Flowserve Performance ASCII file. This option is only available after the Domain Administrator retrieves the Flowserve Performance! links from the IN_CTLOG.DDTI file.

New Browser Tree Item icon 16bit Actions > New Group

Adds a group to the tree view that is to contain import links.

Actions > New Link

Defines an import link: the import method and source data settings.

Page Editor icon 16bit Actions > Edit Link

When a link is selected in the tree view, this option enables you to edit the import method and source data settings.

Actions > Rename

Renames the selected link or link group in the tree view.

Delete Icon 16 Actions > Delete

Permanently deletes the selected link or link group in the tree view.

Disassociate Item icon 16bit Actions > Dissociate

Removes the selected link from the group in which it is located. After dissociating an import link, it is still available for use from the All group.

Actions > Open Link

Opens one or more selected links for viewing or editing the link mapping between the source and target data.

Actions > Import

Imports data for the selected links.

Actions > Test

Runs a test of the selected import link. No actual data is imported, providing that in the [Database] section of the Intools.ini file, the following parameter setting exists: AutoCommit=0. If the setting is AutoCommit=1, trying to test an import session results in actual data import.

Close icon 16bit Actions > Close Links

Closes all links that were opened.

Explorer Filter icon 16bit Actions > Filter

Opens the Filter dialog to filter the links or group of links to display.

Open Folder icon 16bit Actions > Folder

Opens the Default Source File Folder dialog to specify the default folder for the source database files.

PPM All Outputs Graphic Actions > Refresh

Refreshes the information in the Link Explorer window.

Properties icon 16bit Actions > Properties

Allows you to view the properties of the selected link or group of links.

Log File > New

Creates a new log file.

Log File > Open

Opens a log file before you perform an import procedure so that you have a record of the import process.

Log File > Delete

Deletes a log file.

Log File > View

Allows you to view the contents of the current log file.

Log File > Log File Name

Displays the name and file path of the current log file.

Log File > Close

Closes the current log file to run an import process without a log file.

Log File > Show Link Parameters

Select this option to include link parameter information in the current log file. Cancel this selection not include link parameter information in the current log file.

System Codes >

System codes are used to adapt source system codes to the system codes used in your target Smart Instrumentation database. Other options let you import and export existing system codes.

System Codes > Select Source System

Opens the Source System List dialog to select or define the source system that you need to adapt to your target database.

System Codes > Adapt System Codes

Opens a dialog to adapt the selected source system codes to your target database.

Codes > Adapt Unit of Measure Codes

Opens a dialog to adapt the unit of measure codes of the selected source system to your target database.

Codes > Export Codes

Opens the Export Codes dialog to create an ASCII file containing system and unit of measure codes adapted for Smart Instrumentation.

Codes > Import Codes

Opens the Import Codes dialog to import system and unit of measure codes adapted for Smart Instrumentation.

Codes > Current Source System

Display the current source system that you selected in the Source System List dialog.

Service >

The Service options are used to move links to another database or domain, set the primary key and foreign key definitions of the target table, associate a tag number with an instrument type, and so forth.

Service > Export Links

Opens the Export Link Groups dialog to export a group of links as the first stage in moving links to another database or domain.

Service > Import Links

Creates a group of links from an ASCII file that was created in the Export Link Groups dialog. Importing links is the second stage in moving links to another database or domain.

Service > Target Table Definition

Opens the Table Definition dialog to set the primary key and foreign key definitions of the target table.

Service > Set ODBC Profile

Opens the Create/Update Profile Name dialog to update the existing ODBC profile name or create a new one.

Service > Prepare the Source File

Opens a source text file to neutralize the effects of the text driver during import.
