The following tasks are used when you need to modify a table column definition specified for a table.

Create a Table Definition Based on Another Definition

Use this procedure to create a new table definition based on an existing definition.

Set a Definition as the Active Definition

Use this procedure to set an existing table definition as the active definition for that table. In the Import Link window, the software only displays table columns that exist in the table definition set as the active definition. By default, every table has its own active definition called Default.

Modify a Table Definition

Use this procedure to modify the table column definitions in the target database.

The software does not validate whether your table definition is correct. Importing wiring data using incorrect table definitions or altering default definitions might result in severe data integrity problems in Smart Instrumentation.

Rename a Table Definition

Use this procedure to rename an existing table definition.

Delete Key Definitions of a Specific Table

Use this procedure to delete column key definitions for a given table.

Use this procedure to delete a table definition.
