This topic explains the basic steps required to generate an Enhanced Wiring Report.

  1. In Smart Instrumentation, start the Wiring Module.

  2. Select the menu command for the Enhanced Report you want to generate.

  3. Depending on the report chosen, the Enter Tag Number dialog opens or the Find Items dialog, for the report, opens. Do one of the following:

    • In the Enter Tag Number dialog, type the tag number or select Find and select an item from the grid.

    • In the Find Items dialog, select an item from the grid.

    • Each Find Items dialog is specific to the report you want to generate. For example, for a Cable Harness Report the Cable HarnessFind Items dialog opens.

    • In the Search field you can type search criteria to find the items you want to include in your report.

    • You can select more than one item, using the CTRL/SHIFT keys on your keyboard.

  4. Select OK.

  5. At the Print Preview prompt:

Select Yes to open the print preview of the generated report and view the report.

    OR

Select No to start printing the report without viewing.

  • The Enhanced Report Utility prints PDFs using Amyuni PDF Converter 5.51 and publishes them to the output folder specified in File > Preferences > Enhanced Reports > <Report Type>> File Locations > Viewer Output Folder field for the specific report type. If no path is present then Amyuni PDF Converter 5.51 publishes the PDF to the Temp folder as specified in File > Preferences > General. In Smart Instrumentation, on the General page of the Preferences dialog, you can set when to display a print preview. There are three options:

    • Always

    • Never

    • Ask User

  • The software requires a large amount of memory to display graphical items in enhanced report previews. For this reason, we recommend that you do not select a large number of cables at once for previewing reports.
