You use this dialog to export process data files (.ipd) for lines or instruments from Smart Instrumentation or to import process data files into Smart Instrumentation. A process data file of this type can contain data for more than one line or instrument.
Item type
Select whether to perform the action on a line or an instrument.
Action
Allows you to specify whether you want to import a process data file into Smart Instrumentation or to export process data of the selected items to an.ipd file. For import, the command button Open appears; for export, the command button Find appears.
Search results
This data window displays line numbers or instrument tag numbers in the course of importing and exporting process data files. You then select which lines or instruments to import or export.

If you are exporting files, the data window displays the results of your search using the Select Line for Export or the Find Tag dialog.

If you are importing files, the data window displays process data lines or instruments within the file that you selected. Note that the software filters out from this display tags that do not already exist in the Smart Instrumentation database.
Select
Select to include the tag number or line beside this check box in the export or import operation.
Line Number
When the selected item type is Line, displays the number of the line that can be included in the export or import operation.
Instrument Number
When the selected item type is Instrument, displays the number of the instrument that can be included in the export or import operation.
Case Name
Displays the case name for instances of a multi-case tag number.
Select All
Select to include all of the tags displayed in the grid in the export or import operation. This option is available after a successful search or after you select a file.
Open
Browses for an .ipd file from which to import process data. This option is available only for file import. Note that although process data files for both lines and instruments have the .ipd extension, you can import only files that are suitable for the item type that you selected.
Find
Depending on whether the item type is a line or an instrument, opens the Select Line for Export or the Find Tag dialog to search for process data tags to export. This option is available only for file export.
