Smart Instrumentation doesn't directly support the creation of PROFINET wiring and diagrams. Never the less, it is possible with the help of existing PROFIBUS and FIELDBUS features to build PROFINET networks within Smart Instrumentation.
To do this add a new I/O type as PROFINET I/O under Tables – I/O Types and create the following items in the Reference Explorer and use them to create your PROFINET layout in the Domain Explorer.

Device Panel: Plug and Socket type Device Panel.

Cable: Ethernet Cable (4 pair cable) with RJ-45/M12 connector.

Switch.

PLC with PROFINET I/O.

When creating new Instrument tags use Foundation Fieldbus/Profibus-DP/PA as tag class.

Use the Fieldbus tab under instruments properties to fill the PROFINET information like MAC Address, IP address and Device name.
