  1. In your import source, do the following:

    1. Define the project names exactly as they appear in your target domain.

    2. Define the plant hierarchy items if you use more than one plant hierarchy in your projects.

    3. For each project, define data you want to import.

      SHARED Tip You can also include As- Built in the import source. Make sure the name As- Built in the import source appears exactly as in Smart Instrumentation.

  2. In the Import Utility, create the import link for the import source containing your target project definitions.

  3. On the Link Properties dialog, select the Import Level tab, and then, do the following:

    1. Under Hierarchy levels, select the plant hierarchy level that the target projects contain.

    2. If the lowest plant hierarchy item in your projects is not the same, under Import unit data using, select Unit name or Unit number, depending on the definitions in your import source.

    3. Select Specify target projects in link.

    4. Clock OK to close the Link Properties dialog.

  4. Open the link in the Import Link window, and, depending on the import method, do one of the following:

    • If the import method is Single table, link your source project table definition to the ENGINEER NAME/ENG PROJ ID field in the Target Name column.

    • If the import method is Module (multiple tables), link your source project table definition to the Engineering Project Name field in the Target Name column.

  5. Complete making the import link definitions as you require.

  6. Test and import data to the target projects.
