The request for information (RFI) option allows you to view and maintain RFIs and submit questions to the contractor. Additionally, you can report cost, schedule, and drawing impacts related to the RFI.

Create a request for information

  1. Click Project Log - Request for Information on the menu.

  2. Click Add RFI AddIcon to create a new RFI.

  3. Type the RFI subject in the Subject box.

  4. Optionally, click Priority LOVButton to assign a priority to the RFI.

  5. Click Send.

  • To cancel the new RFI, click Cancel.

  • The highlighted envelope RFIread indicates that the RFI was read and answered by the contractor. The grey envelope RFIunread means the RFI has not been answered yet.

Create a question

  1. Click Add Question AddIcon.

    The From box is populated with your user account name by default.

  2. If another name should be assigned, click From LOVButton and select the name.

  3. Optionally, type your phone number in the Telephone Number box.

  4. Optionally, click Required Date CalendarIcon and select the date until when the answer is required.

  5. Type your question in the Question box.

  6. If you want to attach a file to the question, do the following:

    • Click Add Attachments.

    • Select the file(s) you want attach.

    • Click Open.

    • To view an attached file, click the filename.

    • To delete an attachment before you submit, click delete atachment next to the filename.

  7. Click Send.

Create an impact

  1. Select the Impacts tab.

  2. Click Add Impact AddIcon.

  3. If you report a cost impact, do the following:

    • Type the cost value in the Amount cell.

    • Select a currency from the list in the Currency cell.

    • Type a comment in the Cost Comment box on the Comments tab.

  4. If you report a schedule impact, do the following:

    • Type the number of delay days in the Calendar Days box.

    • Type a comment in the Schedule Comment box on the Comments tab.

  5. If you report a drawing impact, do the following:

    • Select the Update Required check box.

    • Type a comment in the Drawing Comment box on the Comments tab.

  6. Click Send.
