Every edge has two sides; Short Point Side and Long Point Side.

The intersecting line of the Short Point Side and the bounding face is the Short Point Edge. The intersecting line of the Long Point Side and the bounding face is the Long Point Edge.

In the Properties dialog box for an edge feature, there is a LongPointEdge parameter. The value of this property specifies which side the symbol is adjusted on.

If LongPointEdge is set to LongPoint, Smart 3D adjusts the 2D symbol on the long point side. That means that the origin point is on the Long Point Edge.

If LongPointEdge is set to ShortPoint, Smart 3D adjusts the 2D symbol on the short point side. That means that the origin point is on the Short Point Edge.

The default value of LongPointEdge is ShortPoint.
