Physical connections do not have any solid or surface geometry in the 3D model. The geometry of the bevels is not represented in the 3D model because other plates do not trim to that geometry. Physical connections can be highlighted as the overlapping area between two ports, as shown in the following pictures.

Selecting the connection, graphically or in the Workspace Explorer, activates a Properties dialog box. The assigned values may be viewed and modified on the Selection tab.

If a plate has a large thickness difference with the plate next to it, it may have an additional bevel in the form of a chamfer. The chamfer is applied as an object that has 3D geometry because the objects that are bounded to the plate must be trimmed to the shape of the chamfer. The chamfer is handled as a separate object, and the physical connection is applied to the two ports after the chamfer has been cut. A chamfer is applied when two plates have a thickness difference greater than a value (such as 3mm or 5 mm) defined in the rules.
