Selecting Edge Feature Classes based on the "off of edge" Question - Intergraph Smart 3D - Reference Data

Both the OffEdge class and the CutEdge class can be selected when you place an edge feature by the Along Edge or Offset method. The selection is decided by the question Off of edge.

If the answer is Yes, then the OffEdge class is selected. If the answer is No, then the CutEdge class is selected.

The default answer for this question is No.

Select items in the Cut Edge class

  1. Click Place Edge Feature .

  2. Select an edge of a part.

  3. Select Along Edge from the Method list.

  4. Select a point at which to place the feature.

  5. Click Finish.

    Smart 3D places the CutEdge items.

  6. Select the edge feature.

    If you cleared the Rule Based check box, then items belong to the Cut Edge class are listed.

  7. Click Properties .

    The Properties dialog box displays the default answer of No to the Off of edge question.

Select items in the Off Edge class

  1. Click Place Edge Feature .

  2. Select an edge of a part.

  3. Select Along Edge from the Method list.

  4. Select a point at which to place the feature. Do not click Finish.

    Smart 3D displays the CutEdge items.

  5. Click Properties .

    The Properties dialog box displays.

  6. Click the Selection tab on the Properties dialog box.

  7. Set the Off of Edge answer to Yes.

  8. Click Apply or OK on the Properties dialog box.

  9. Click Finish.

    Smart 3D places the offset item.

  10. Select the edge feature.

    If you cleared the Rule Based check box, then items belong to the Off Edge class are listed.
