The management of data access control occurs in the Oracle Forms interface. Each of the data items available for access control has a unique code pre-loaded into the database. Access to these data items, by a given role, is controlled by the relationships on A.30.03 Roles/Menus.
All data access codes have a Menu Type of .NET DATA. Their codes are made up of a prefix, identifying the menu under which they reside, a classification letter, and finally a sequence number. The classification letters G, N, and P indicate the type of control: Grid, Node, or Property, respectively.
Allowing access to a data item ensures that it is displayed in the software when a user with the relevant role is logged in.
Preventing access to a data item ensures that it is hidden from users with the relevant role.
