Administrators use access control to allow or prevent access to various elements of the application for a given role. You can control access to two types of features: the menus and the data areas.

Menu access control involves, for the role in question, allowing or preventing visibility of each of the menu items displayed on the main menu bar of the application.

Not all menu items are available for access control because hiding some, such as Login, would be inappropriate in the context of the software.

Data access control allows definition of individual data items to which a role may have full, read-only, or no access. These data items relate to forms and their contents, such as drop-down items in Explorer views or buttons.
