Search and select source spec

  1. Click SRD > XS20 Spec > XS2020 Spec Editor.

  2. Right-click the specification type, and click Open Over Page.

  3. Click Copy Specs CopySpecs.

  4. Select a Source Project.

    You cannot edit data in the Source Project box after selection. You can modify the selected source project by clicking LOV and changing the List of Values. You can delete the source project by pressing Delete from the keyboard.

  5. (Optional) Enter other search information to refine the search criteria.

    Search parameters.

    • Revision Options

      • Highest Revision - Displays all specs of the highest revision whether or not the spec is issued. This is the default option.

      • Highest Revision Not Issued - Displays all specs that are of the highest revision, and the spec is not issued.

      • All - Displays all specs.

    • Spec Type - Unique name for the specification type.

    • Spec Code - Unique specification codes from the Specification Management screen.

    • Description - Description of the specification.

    • Specification Tables -Name of the specification table that you want to search a spec.

    • Specification Attributes - Specification attributes are based on specification type. First, select a Spec Type, and then enter an attribute and its corresponding value that you want to search.

  6. Click Search. The search results are displayed on the right.

  7. From the search results window, select a specification, and then click Next.

Copy Scope

  1. Fill out the specification details for Header, Items, and Definitions.

    For each option, specify how the data is handled in the destination spec. When copying specs for the first time, you can select Insert. At a later time, if the source spec has been modified, then you can select both Insert or Update so that the modifications in the source spec are passed on to the destination spec.

    Insert - Adds new data to the destination spec.

    Update - Modifies existing data in the destination spec.

    Selecting both Insert and Update adds new data and modifies existing data in the destination spec. If no value is selected, the software does not add or modify data in the destination spec.

  2. Click Next to select the target spec. (applicable only for the single source spec selection)

SHARED Tip Select the Create Log File check box if you want the software to save a log file for the copying process.

Search and select target spec

For multiple spec copies, the target specification selection is ignored. All the selected specifications are created under the respective specification type.

You must at least provide one search criteria.

  1. Click LOV to select Spec Type and then click Search.

  2. From the search results window, select the target spec type.

    If no target spec is selected the source spec copy is created at the source spec type.

  3. Click Copy, and then click Yes to confirm the copy selection.

  • When no target spec is selected, the source copy is created with suffix - copy at the source spec type.

  • After the copy process is complete, click View Log File to check the log.
