  1. Click SRD > XS10 Component Manager > XS1020 Geometric Management, and select Branches in the drop-down list in the tree view.

You can also access the Branch Editor in the following way:

    1. Click SRD > XS20 Spec > XS2020 Spec Editor.

    2. Open a template specification by double-clicking it.

    3. On the Components page, in the Branch Matrix section, click Branch Matrix.

If there is a branch assigned to the spec, the branch content appears automatically. If there is more than one branch, you can choose a distinct branch from the list at the top of the Branch Editor.

  2. In the Branch Editor, click New PropertiesNew.

  3. Complete the header information.

When creating a branch or attaching a branch, you must fill in the short code. You can use the Selection list LOV which displays S.10.08 Short Codes.

  4. Construct the axes.

    • In the NPD box, type a number, and click add.

    • To delete a number on the axis, select it in the NPD box and click .

    • Using the keyboard, you can add values to the axes by pressing ENTER or delete values by pressing DELETE.

    • You can also use the Add NPD By Nominal Size or Add NPD from General buttons to construct the axes. The Add NPD from General button (applicable only for template specs) adds the NPD values that are selected in the Thickness grid on the Cover page, if those values are not present in the branch already.

  5. Add values to the cells. Select a cell, and press F9. On the Selection list LOV, choose a group/part combination.

    • You can right-click a cell and select Group/Part to display a Selection list LOV for groups and parts. In the Component Manager, the Kind of Part property must be set to Branch to include the Selection list LOV in the group/part.

    • To view or edit the branch preference at a later time, you must assign a Group/Part data in the branches while creating a branch preference. By default, the software always displays Used pref ALL and 1.

    • You can also enter data in the branch table manually or by copying and pasting.

  6. Define an angle range for the branch; enter the angles in the Angle Low and Angle High boxes.

    • You must enter a number followed by the corresponding units. For example: 45deg.

    • The Angle Low value must be less than or equal to the Angle High value.

  7. Click Save SaveGrid.

The Used pref box allows you to switch between the different preferences of the branch. The ALL preference is a summary of the data. If you want to add data, you must choose a distinct preference, such as 1 or 2. When a new preference is added, the grid refreshes automatically. You can also delete a preference.
