This functionality provides you with the ability to delete class data from the CMS classification tree. The functionality can be accessed through the Manage Class > Delete Class command available on the shortcut menu of the classification tree view as shown below.

The shortcut key for the Delete Class command is the DELETE key.

The Delete Class dialog box can also be opened by clicking Delete Class on the toolbar.

Once you select the Delete Class command from the menu or toolbar, the alert shown below comes up for you to confirm the operation.

You must click Yes to delete the class and all its child data.

The selected class can be deleted only if it has no idents at all, or all of its idents or all the idents of its sub classes are linked to at least one class other than the selected class tree. The idents of a class should be re-classified or additionally classified to at least one class other than the selected class hierarchy before deleting the class.

When a class is deleted, if a Smart 3D sheet is mapped to the class, the S3D sheet mapping is deleted on the SP3D 10.04 Item Mappings screen. The sheet corresponding to the class is deleted from the Sheets section on the SP3D 10.07 Sheet Configs screen.

If all the idents are not additionally classified with any other class, the following message appears.

If all the idents of the selected class are associated with any other class, you can delete the class only if you have the DELETE CLASS RESTRICTION privilege assigned.

For more information about privileges, see User Privileges in the Smart Materials Administration.

If you do not have the privilege, the following message appears if the class cannot be deleted.
