What are Catalog Structures?

A catalog structure is a named set of catalog elements. A catalog structure also means the hierarchy in the Smart 3D catalog. For different disciplines and for different Smart 3D catalogs or installations, you might have different catalog structures.

Can you create Catalog Structures using Smart Reference Data Plus?

Not only you can view a catalog structure, but also you can create Catalog Structures on the fly from Smart Reference Data Plus software that are attached to S3D Destination.

What are Standard Catalog Structures?

Standard Catalogs are delivered with the software. The Standard check box indicates whether this catalog structure is part of the standard delivered with the software. The standard are used as is and are read-only.

Create a catalog structure

  1. Click Integration > Smart 3D > Smart 3D Transfer Jobs.

  2. Click Select Destinations , and select a destination from the selection list.

  3. On the Smart 3D Destinations tool bar, click Open for Edit Open_for_Edit > Catalog Structure.

  4. Type the name of the catalog structure, press ENTER and then click Yes to create.

    • New catalog structure is created on the fly. If a catalog is already associated to the Destination, replace the catalog name with a new name.

    • To add an existing catalog structure, click browse button and select a catalog structure.

    • Use Comment box to add comments on the catalog structure.

  5. Click Save SaveGrid. and then Close.

  6. On the Smart 3D Destinations tool bar, click Save SaveGrid .

  7. To add a sub node, right-click , click Add Node and then type the sub node name.

  • The structure element name becomes the object name in the Smart 3D catalog hierarchy. The display name appears if you browse through the catalog in Smart 3D and Smart Reference Data.

  • Each end node element in a catalog structure can have one or more sheets attached.

  • Sub nodes can only be created if the node does not contain a sheet.
