You can define a template specification with or without specifying a filter geometric in the Preferred Thicknesses box on the Cover page.

If you enter a filter geometric in the Preferred Thicknesses box, the Thickness grid is filled in for you.

If you do not enter a filter geometric in the Preferred Thicknesses box, you can manually enter the thickness and schedule values in the Thickness grid.

There must be at least one assigned schedule for the material. You can choose schedules using the browse Browse buttons in the Thickness grid.

Preferred thicknesses can optionally have a schedule table.

  • If the optional schedule values are populated in the preferred thickness and also if there is no schedule table attached to the main material, the schedule values are copied from the preferred thickness to the Schedule column in the Thickness grid.

  • If there is a schedule table attached to the main material, the optional schedule values in the preferred thickness are populated, and then the schedule values attached to the main material are compared with the schedule values in the preferred thickness:

    • If they match, they are copied into the Thickness grid.

    • If they do not match, the wall thickness values are copied to the Schedule column.

Thickness grid

The Thickness grid is refreshed based on a project default ZS_TG_MOD.

  • If the project default is set to Y, the Thickness grid is refreshed when you change the Diameter Series, Preferred Thicknesses, or Material Detail in the Material grid.

  • If the project default is set to N, the Thickness grid is refreshed only for the unchecked nominal sizes, when you change the Diameter Series, Preferred Thicknesses, or Material Detail in the Material grid. For the checked nominal sizes, the software does not re-populate the schedule and wall thickness fields.

If the project default is set to N and you change the Diameter Series, we preserve the user-defined values for schedule and wall thickness for the common nominal sizes. The rest of the nominal sizes, schedule, and wall thickness values are re-populated.

Filter geometric structure

In Smart Reference Data (Classic), the Kind of Attribute column on A.50.03 Tables/Attributes allows you to pick 1. Nominal Size, 1. Schedule, Thickness, and so forth.

1. Nominal Size - Value goes to NPD

1. Schedule - Value goes to Schedule

Thickness - Value goes to Thickness

  • It is mandatory to have nominal sizes and wall thickness to construct the Thickness grid on the Cover page in Smart Reference Data Plus. Schedule is an optional column.

  • There is no restriction on the physical attributes mapped against Kind of Attribute, except that the nominal size must be GD.IN1.

  • For previous filter geometric structures, GD.IN1 is considered to be the nominal size, and any Kind of Attribute that is mapped to GD.IN2 is considered to be the wall thickness.
