  1. Select Window > New > Engineering Data Editor.

    OR

    In an open EDE, select View EDE View Menu ELEC >Edit View EDE Edit View ELEC.

  2. On the Edit View dialog, select an item type.

  3. Select Advanced on the Edit View dialog.

  4. On the Filter tab of the Advanced Table Properties dialog, specify a name for the filter in Base filter.

    SHARED Tip Select Default if you want this filter to be the default for the item type that you selected on the Edit View dialog.

  5. Select Browse if you want to search for a filter or create a new filter - either simple or compound - using the Select Filter dialog.

  6. To further define a filter, populate the Definition box with properties and values. Select Add to add a line to the Definition box.

  7. Select a property, an operator, and a value from the Edit group. Property lists properties that apply to your item type; Operator lists all the possible relationships, such as greater than and not equal to; select the specific property value you want to filter for in Value.

    SHARED Tip You can use an operator with a property that has a value with a unit of measure. For example, you can filter a table showing motors to show only those motors that have the brake power value greater than the value you set in the filter.

  8. To add more entries, repeat steps 4 and 5.

  9. Select Delete if you want to delete the current row in the Definition box.

  10. Select either Match all or Match any.

  11. Select OK on the Advanced Table Properties dialog and again on the Edit View dialog so that the software can populate your table.
