A single-core cable assembly is a grouping of single-core cables that Smart Electrical manages as a whole entity and not as individual cables, thus reducing repetitive work, mistakes, and inconsistencies. For example, sometimes there is a need to connect three-phase (3 wire, 4 or 5 wire) equipment using individual single-core cables, one core per phase, often needed when dealing with high voltage or high current cables.

SHARED Tip Note that it is possible to change the formation of an existing single-core cable assembly by adding or deleting the constituent neutral and grounding cables in the Single-Core Cable Assembly Common Properties Dialog. However, this is not possible if the single-core cable assembly has the DC phase arrangement. For details, see Change the Formation of a Single-Core Cable Assembly.
