Using the Visual Studio Microsoft Help Viewer - Intergraph Smart Electrical - Help - Hexagon

The Microsoft Help Viewer is no longer installed by default with Visual Studio 2017. You must add the feature during original product installation or return to modify Visual Studio. You have two options for modifying an installation of Visual Studio to add the Help Viewer.

Option 1

1. Open Visual Studio.

2. Type help viewer in the Quick Launch box in the upper right corner of Visual Studio, and as you type, following displays:

   

3. Select Help Viewer (Individual Component).

   

4. Click Yes.

   

5. Click Continue.

   Restarting computer is not likely required.

Option 2

1. Open Visual Studio.

2. Click Tools > Get Tools and Features….

   

   

3. Click Yes.

   

4. Select Help Viewer and click Modify.

   When installation is complete, the Help menu includes all Help Viewer functionality.

   

To implement and activate the Visual Studio help system for local use (viewing Intergraph API documentation and any locally installed documentation), establish display connectivity with the Microsoft Help Viewer.

Microsoft refers to completing this connectivity as setting the local help store content.
