Intergraph .NET API Visual Studio integrated help documentation consists primarily of two required files for each .NET API project.

  • <ProjectName>.cab (.html compiled as MSHC in a digitally signed CAB file)

  • helpcontentsetup.msha (product manifest providing help system installation information)

You must perform these steps once for each help file you need to install.

  1. In Visual Studio, select Help > Add and Remove Help Content, then select the Manage Content tab.

  2. Select Disk to activate the text box to its right.

The text box and lower left corner notification always contain the previous local installation information.

  3. Browse to your helpcontentsetup.msha file. This folder must also contain the related CAB file.

  4. Click Open.

If documentation of interest was installed previously, you must remove the existing installation before viewing any changes in an updated file. Then, follow the steps to install the updated file.

  5. Click "Add" in the Action column, which changes to "Cancel". The Status column displays "Add (pending)", and pending changes displays your selections.

  6. Click Update in the lower right corner, which opens the Security Alert for the associated signed CAB file (targeted by the MSHA file).

  7. Click Yes to proceed and update the local library. This step installs the CAB file and merges its content with any other installed Intergraph and Microsoft indexes and content.

Now, your API documentation is ready for review when notifications end with 'succeeded' in the lower left corner.
