With many types of construction codes an occasional load factor can be used to increase the allowable stress for an event that is considered occasional in nature. Such occasional loads are Wind, Seismic and the lifting of a vessel. The occasional load factor will be multiplied by other terms in the allowable stress equation to get the overall allowable. If you do not wish to take credit for such an increase in the allowable, enter 1 in this field. The default is 1.33.
