This design method considers the following:

  • The Total Number of Bolt per Base Plate should be an even number. The program assumes that the bolts are located along the length (B) of the base plate as shown in the figure.

  • In case there is no wind/earth quake/horizontal loads, the Number of Bolt in Tension per Base Plate is not required.

  • If there is wind/earth quake/horizontal loads, the Number of Bolt in Tension per Base Plate should be the number of bolts along one length dimension, shown as three bolts in the figure. When this input is left blank, its value is assumed to be half of the total number of bolts.

  • The program assumes the leg is attached symmetrically on the base plate.

  • The Distance from the Edge of the Leg to the Bolt Hole, the "z" dimension, is same along the width and along the length.
