To add a web page to Smart Materials Web, you must create a new menu item in Smart Materials on the A.30.01 Menus screen.

Enter the name in the Menu Item field, select BI_REPORT from the drop-down list in the Menu Type field, and select BIR_CUST from the select list in the Parent Menu Item field. Click the Nls Description button to open the Translated Descriptions window.

Select the language from the select list in the Nls field, enter the name in the Menu Name field, a description in the Item Name field, and the label in the Item Label field. The Item Label text is shown in Smart Materials Web as a link (see picture below).

You must add the new menu item to the user role; otherwise, the menu item is not available in Smart Materials Web. For more information, see Set Up Access Control.

To specify the link target (URL) for the new menu item, select Manage Custom Menu URLs from the Administration menu in Smart Materials Web.

Click Add Row to add a new record. Select the menu item from the drop-down list in the Menuitem Id field, enter a link in the URL field, and click Submit.

There are two options to change the behavior of the URLs:

  • BI Internal - Select this check box if want to specify a link to another Apex application within the same workspace.

  • New Window - Select this check box to specify that the page is opened in a new window or tab.
