What is the importance of issue status?

The issue status is used to indicate the progress of the material input on the Maintain BOM page. If an issue status is not marked, it will be hidden by the system by generation of requisition quantities. Example of an issue status definition is as follows:

  1. On the Home page, click Bill of Materials > SETUP > Issue Status.

  2. On the Issue Status Definition tab, click Add Row.

  3. Enter the unique sequence number in the Seq cell and a unique name in the Issue Status cell.

  4. Select Yes in the Use On Site cell to make the Issue Status available for Fixed Issue Status Selection for forecast/reservation runs in the Site Module. Otherwise select No.

  5. Add the descriptions in the Short Description and Description cells.

  6. Select the appropriate issue status usage from the select list in the Usage cell.

    • When you select Null, the corresponding issue status will not be excluded from the Best Quantity computations and is selectable for BOM positions in the logged-in discipline. Also, no record for this will exist for the logged-in discipline in the Exclude Issue status tab and if any exists the record is deleted.

    • When you select Exclude Best QTY, the corresponding issue status will be excluded from the Best Quantity computations and is selectable for BOM positions in the logged-in discipline. Also, an entry will be created in the Exclude Issue Status tab for the logged-in discipline with the Hide cell set to No. If an entry already exists then the Hide cell will be set to No as well.

    • When you select Not Selectable & Exclude Best QTY, the corresponding issue status will be excluded from the Best Quantity computations and is not selectable for BOM positions in the logged-in discipline. Also, this will create an entry in the Exclude Issue Status tab for the logged-in discipline with the Hide cell will be set to Yes. If an entry already exists then the Hide cell will be set to Yes as well.

  1. From the Home page, click Bill of Materials, and then click Issue Status.

  2. On the Exclude Issue Status tab, click Add Row.

  3. In the Issue Status cell, select the appropriate value from the select list.

  • Discipline indicates the discipline in which this an issue status is excluded for Best Quantity computation.

  • If the Hide button is set to Yes, it means that an Issue Status is Excluded for Best Quantity computations and is not selectable for BOM positions in the login discipline. Also, the list item Usage in the Issue Status Definition tab reflects the change by setting the value to Not Selectable & Exclude Best QTY. If the No is selected in the Hide cell, it means that an Issue Status is Excluded for Best Quantity computations and is still selectable for BOM positions in the login discipline. Also, the list item Usage in Issue Status Definition tab reflects the change by setting the value to Exclude Best QTY.

  • The information on this block is discipline dependent.

  • All entries will not be used in determining the best quantities for generate requisition quantities. Inserting, modifying or deleting a record is only allowed for this discipline the user is logged in.

  • If a status is to be used in determining the best quantities for generate requisition quantities, you need to delete a status from this block.
