User access for projects lets you define the permissions for a user to work with projects and disciplines. You can assign roles and the access permissions to different pages for each role. You can also activate or de-activate a user.

Access Control for Projects

  1. On the Home page, click Administration> Global Setup> User Access for Projects.

  2. In the Working with Projects section, select a View option to to filter the displayed records.

    1. All: To view all the records.

    2. With SOD Violations: To view only the records that have 'Separation Of Duties' violations.

    3. Without SOD Violations: To view only the records that does not have any SOD violations.

    The View option filters the records based on the Separation of Duties (SOD) violations. SOD is an internal control intended to prevent fraud and error. SoD does not allow a user to have access to more than one set of privileges or menus that fall under a particular SoD definition, unless the exceptions are explicitly defined.

  3. Click Add Row.

  4. Select the User, the Project, the Product Group and the Discipline from the list.

    You can only give access to the current working project. It is only possible to give access to other projects when the user has the privilege 'ASSIGN USER PRIVILEGES OP'.

  5. Select Yes/No in the Active cell to activate or deactivate access permission.

  6. Select the Role from the select list.

    • If you are updating an existing valid role to have some other project/discipline/user, then this role cannot be updated, while other roles cannot have any dependable valid role in their stack. The same is applicable for the deletion of a role as well.

  7. Then select View Name and NLS from their respective select lists.

    • Each User should have only the same View Name for one Project.

    • The View Name is not changeable if the user created already at least one List User View with the assigned List View. Drop all List User View which are created with the List View. After this step it will be possible to assign another List-View to the login-environment.

  8. Click Copy User Privileges to copy user privileges from other sources and then select User, Discipline, Role, Project, and NLS from the Copy User Privileges window and then click Start.

  9. Click Copy Queryable Disciplines (Project) to copy disciplines from other sources and then select User, Discipline, Role, Project, and NLS from the Copy Queryable Disciplines (Project) block and then click Start.

    • You can use Bulk Edit button Database symbol to edit multiple cells for this screen.

      • You can select cells and then click this button to open Bulk Edit option. After making the required changes, click Update. The values are updated for the rows with selected cells only, other rows are not affected.

      • Alternatively, you can apply a filter criteria, select cells of a single row, and click the bulk edit button. In such cases, the update is made in all rows that meet the filter criteria.

    • You can use Bulk Delete button bulk_delete to delete multiple records for this screen.

      • You need to apply a filter criteria and then click the Bulk Delete button. It asks for a confirmation and once confirmed all the records meeting the filter criteria get deleted.

    • You can customize logging option during bulk edit and configure the maximum number of rows that can be bulk edited at a time using the custom package M_PCK_IG_BULK_UPDATE_CUSTOM.
