The Space Management Tab > Volumes commands display the Select from Catalog Dialog the first time you run a Volumes command in a session.

Click Space Management Tab > Volumes > Grids Command to open the Place Volume by Grids Controls.

Click Browse Catalog to open the Select from Catalog Dialog.

Browse the catalog and select a volume type, and then click OK.

Select a space folder to define the active parent:
Click Space Folder > Select from Workspace to display the Workspace tab on the Select Space Folder Dialog. Select a space folder, and then click OK.
Click Space Folder > Select from Model to display the Model tab on the Select Space Folder Dialog. Select a space folder, and then click OK.
Click Select Parent System Interactively , and then select a space folder from the Space Hierarchy Explorer .

Specify a name for the volume in the Name box.

Click Grids , and then open the System Hierarchy Explorer. Select two grid planes in the first axis.

Select at least two more grid planes from each remaining axis. Your selection should include two grid planes from each axis, for a total of six grid planes. Selecting more than six grid planes creates additional volumes.
The software draws a wire frame around the volume defined by the selected grid planes.

(Optional) Click Assoc Enabled to break the association between the volume and objects in the model. This is useful when placing volumes that you need to modify later. The control changes to Assoc Disabled . If you place a volume using Assoc Enabled , you need to break the association of each point in the volume before modifying it.

Complete the placement:

Select Finish or press CTRL + ENTER to save your changes and exit the command.

Select Finish and Modify or press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then start the modification of that object.

Select Finish and Repeat or press SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then restart the command using the same options.
