Place volume by grid

This animation hides the dimension and length labels. You can show or hide these labels on selected objects in your model using the ALT+D graphic view Keyboard Shortcuts.

The Space Management Tab > Volumes commands display the Select from Catalog Dialog the first time you run a Volumes command in a session.

  2. Click Browse Catalog Com_Browser to open the Select from Catalog Dialog.

  3. Browse the catalog and select a volume type, and then click OK.

  4. Select a space folder to define the active parent:

Click Space Folder > Select from Workspace Select from Workspace ICON to display the Workspace tab on the Select Space Folder Dialog. Select a space folder, and then click OK.

Click Space Folder > Select from Model Select from Model ICON to display the Model tab on the Select Space Folder Dialog. Select a space folder, and then click OK.

Click Select Parent System Interactively , and then select a space folder from the Space Hierarchy Explorer .

  5. Specify a name for the volume in the Name box.

  6. Click Grids S3D_Volume_Grid, and then open the System Hierarchy Explorer. Select two grid planes in the first axis.

    Select remaining grid planes

  8. (Optional) Click Assoc Enabled Com_Link ICON to break the association between the volume and objects in the model. This is useful when placing volumes that you need to modify later. The control changes to Assoc Disabled Com_BrokenLink ICON. If you place a volume using Assoc Enabled Com_Link ICON, you need to break the association of each point in the volume before modifying it.

  9. Complete the placement:

    • Select Finish or press CTRL + ENTER to save your changes and exit the command.

    • Select Finish and Modify Finish Modify ICON or press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then start the modification of that object.

    • Select Finish and Repeat Finish Repeat ICON or press SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then restart the command using the same options.
