Mouse Icon Menu Choose Columns ICON > Com_Export

The Export Command > Structure > Export Structure to OCX command exports Smart 3Dx design data to an Open Class 3D Exchange (OCX) file, which adheres to a commonly agreed upon schema that is accepted across classification societies. Data from the following object types are exported:

  • Plate Systems as Panel

  • Plate Parts as Plates

  • Collar Parts as Plates

  • Standalone Plate Parts as Plates

  • Bracket Parts as Brackets

  • Profile Parts as Stiffeners

  • Standard Member Parts as Pillars

  • Designed Member Parts as a Panels/Plates

  • Openings as Hole2DContour

  • Compartments as PhysicalSpace

  • Coordinate Systems as FrameTables

  • Seams as Seams (if they are only participating in splitting the plate systems)

General

Filter

Select a filter to identify the model objects to export. Select Com_Filter ICON to select an existing filter or create a new filter.

Description

Type a description for the export. This description is included in the .xml/.3dOcx file.

Version

Type a version for the export. This version is included in the .xml/.3dOcx file.

Organization

Type an organizational name. This organization name is included in the .xml/.3dOcx file.

External Geometry File Types

None

Select this option to embed the geometry information within the .xml/.3dOcx file itself. This is the default option.

IGS

Select this option to export object geometry to an IGS file. For each object, an IGS file is generated in the same location as the .xml/.3dOcx file using the OID of the object for the IGS file name. The reference for the IGS file is mentioned in the .xml/.3dOcx file.

STP

Select this option to export object geometry to an STP file. For each object, an STP file is generated in the same location as the .xml/.3dOcx file using the OID of the object for the STP file name. The reference for the STP file is mentioned in the .xml/.3dOcx file.

File Paths

Output File

Specifies the folder path and file name for the .xml or .3dOcx export file. This file contains the exported Smart 3Dx objects in a common format that is accepted across classification societies.

Mapping File

Specifies the folder path and file name for the mapping file. The mapping file maps Smart 3Dx object data and its related properties to that of OCX schema. A default mapping file is available in the following folder:

..\SharedContent\Data\Translators\S3DToOCXExport\S3DToOCXExportMapping.xlsx

Log File

Specifies the folder path and file name for the log file. The log file contains information regarding the export details and summary.
