Select Electrical Tab > Create Cable to display the Create Cable Controls.

In the Parent System list, select a system interactively from the system hierarchy, from the list of recently used systems, or by browsing from the workspace or model.
You can only select an Electrical system as the parent system. If an electrical system is selected when the Create Cable command is invoked, the selected electrical system is automatically assigned as parent system and parent assignment step can be skipped.

Select the naming rule to use, if needed.

Select the cable type from the Signal Type list.

In the Cable Part list, select a cable part. The most recently used cable part displays in the list. Alternatively, start typing a cable part name in the Cable Part search box, or select Browse to open the Select from Catalog dialog and locate the cable part in the catalog.

Select the Originating Device for the cable connection in the graphic view or from the System Hierarchy.

Select the Terminating Device for the cable connection in the graphic view or from the System Hierarchy.
If a connection to a particular cable port is required, you can select Receptacle, Terminal, Connector, and Backshell values for the equipment in the property page.

In the Spare Cable Length at Origin and Spare Cable Length at Destination boxes, type the extra length of cable to have at the originating and terminating devices respectively.
The software automatically updates the Route Status based on the status of the cable.

(Optional) Select Route Cable Command to route the cable through the shortest network path between originating and terminating device.

Complete the placement:

Select Finish or press CTRL + ENTER to save your changes and exit the command.

Select Finish and Modify or press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then start the modification of that object.

Select Finish and Repeat or press SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then restart the command using the same options.
