By selection

This animation hides the dimension and length labels. You can show or hide these labels on selected objects in your model using the ALT+D graphic view Keyboard Shortcuts.

The Space Management Tab > Volumes commands display the Select from Catalog Dialog the first time you run a Volumes command in a session.

  1. Click Space Management Tab > Volumes > Selection Command S3D_Volume_By_Select to open the Place Volume by Selection Controls.

  2. Click Browse Catalog Com_Browser to open the Select from Catalog Dialog.

  3. Browse the catalog and select a volume type, and then click OK.

  4. Select a space folder to define the active parent:

    Click Space Folder > Select from Workspace Select from Workspace ICON to display the Workspace tab on the Select Space Folder Dialog. Select a space folder, and then click OK.

    Click Space Folder > Select from Model Select from Model ICON to display the Model tab on the Select Space Folder Dialog. Select a space folder, and then click OK.

    Click Select Parent System Interactively , and then select a space folder from the Space Hierarchy Explorer .

  5. Specify a name for the volume in the Name box.

  6. Click an object for the rectangular volume. Optionally, click *Fitted Volume to fit the volume to the selected object.

    The software displays a wire frame around the selected object.

  7. Select additional objects to include in the volume, if necessary.

  8. Complete the placement:

    • Select Finish or press CTRL + ENTER to save your changes and exit the command.

    • Select Finish and Modify Finish Modify ICON or press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then start the modification of that object.

    • Select Finish and Repeat Finish Repeat ICON or press SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then restart the command using the same options.
