  1. Open Precision Input Precision Input ICON from the View Manipulation Toolbar.

  2. In Precision Input, select the slider to switch to Point Along.

  3. Select Along Element from the direction list.

  4. Select Set Point Along Reference Object and then select the pipe.

  5. Position the reference point from which to start measuring.

  6. Select Insert Pipe Component Command S3D_Insert_Pipe_Component ICON on the Piping Tab to display the Insert Pipe Component Controls.

    You are prompted to select where to place the component.

  7. Select the same pipe again.

  8. Select the component to place.

  9. Type the required distance in the distance box.

    The component slides along the pipe to the specified distance.

  10. Complete the placement:

    • Select Finish or press CTRL + ENTER to save your changes and exit the command.

    • Select Finish and Modify Finish Modify ICON or press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then start the modification of that object.

    • Select Finish and Repeat Finish Repeat ICON or press SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then restart the command using the same options.
