Session Files

New session files are based on a template which provides a starting point for your model. Templates include information such as units of measure, views, styles, and other properties. Frequently-used templates display in the Menu Choose Columns ICON > New (CTRL + N) session file list. You can get to additional templates by clicking the down arrow beside the list.

Session files allow you to save window sizes and locations, layout, and view orientation from one work session to the next. One of the settings saved in the session is the workspace. See Create a new session file.

Workspaces

The workspace represents the portion of the model data on which you perform your intended task, and it includes view properties for modeling. During a session, you define a workspace to view and work with certain objects in the model data. Define a workspace to create and name filters that restrict the data of the entire model into more manageable subsets.
