Facilities is a new screen that was created specifically for the Hospitality Edition, although it also available in HxGN EAM Enterprise Edition. The purpose of this screen is to create and maintain hotel property facilities. These include the buildings and building infrastructure. Several user equipment types that are considered Facilities have been created including: Floor, Wing, Building, HVAC, and Elevator. You may choose to create others if necessary but remember to add any new facility types to the Screen Setup for the Facilities screen so that the new types will show on the Facilities screen (see Screen Setup section).

Since Facilities are considered equipment records in EAM (i.e., system equipment type = Position) it is like the Position screen. However, much of the position related data, including tab information, has been removed because it is not applicable to facilities. Additional fields that are not available for positions have been added to the Facilities screen.

The Facility Parent field in the hierarchy section should be used to enter a hotel Floor, Wing, or Building (system equipment type = Position) for which the facility is assigned. For example, if the selected record is a floor, then the Facility Parent might be a wing or a building.

  • Facilities are NOT shared with HMS in an integrated environment i.e., they are created and maintained within EAM.

  • The tabs displayed are the tabs certified for use with the Facilities screen in the Hospitality Edition. Other equipment tabs can be made available; however, we cannot guarantee system behavior.

  • The user equipment types = Floor, Wing, Building, HVAC, and Elevator have been created and associated to the system type = Position. The Screen Setup screen was used to filter out all equipment types <> those identified above from this screen’s list view.

  • The Type field is NOT hidden on this screen since there are several equipment types considered Facilities and the Type must be selected when creating new Facility records.

  • The Department field is NOT part of this screen. When Facilities are created the system uses Department = * when storing the record in R5OBJECTS since Department is required in the backend.

  • Reliability Rankings and Energy Details are available for Facilities. In addition, the associated tabs have been made available if your customer wishes to track this information. Typically, this information would be applicable/important to only Facilities whose Type = Buildings. Functionality for these features is available in base HxGN EAM documentation.
