You can create a new property definition only from custom interface definitions that have the Modified by Customer property. Properties have a type that is configured by a Scoped by relationship in the Common Schema. Properties are most commonly scoped by a string and integer.

  1. Select a custom interface definition, and click Actions > Create Property Definition.

  2. In the New Property Definition dialog box, enter the details, such as name, description, and display name.

  3. In the Scoped by property type box, search and select the property type that scopes the property definition.

You can select from standard property types like string, integer, Boolean, and so on, or you can set a predefined list of values for the property as an enumerated list type that is scoped by the property by default. For more information, see Enumerated lists.

  4. Enter other options as applicable.

  • Properties are created in the Draft state by default and are not released to the integration process until they have been reviewed using the Common Schema change request process and set to the Approved state.

  • Methods are available only for custom interfaces with the SDxByCust property.
