Use these guidelines and examples in sizing Smart P&ID hardware configurations, including Connected Workshare.
Hardware sizing, especially for servers, depends on many factors such as:
-
The number of concurrent users per site
-
The number of sites (for Connected Workshare)
-
The size of the project (which translates into the size of the databases)
-
Other software that is running on the computer
For best performance in medium to large workshare configurations, we recommend using 64-bit hardware and operating system. Smart P&ID was tested in workshare environments for sites on Oracle databases (Connected or Standalone Workshare) and Microsoft SQL Server databases (Standalone Workshare only) running 64-bit hardware and operating system.
