When an enabled application publishes, the user can publish documents using the Correlate or Auto-Correlate workflows. By default, these workflows only correlate shared object definitions that are included in the default list of classes in the Shared Objects to Correlate box. However, some objects, such as nozzles or ports, that are published using a correlation workflow should not be automatically correlated because they do not have a unique tag or name. You can define the shared object definitions that you want to correlate when the Correlate or Auto-Correlate workflow is selected during publish.

  • You must be a system administrator to define shared objects to correlate using a workflow.

  • If the Shared Objects to Correlate box contains an *, the Correlate and Auto-correlate workflows try to correlate all published objects.

  • If the Shared Objects to Correlate box contains a comma-separated list of shared object definitions, the Correlate and Auto-correlate workflows only try to correlate objects within those shared object definitions.

  • The Shared Objects to Correlate box is case-sensitive. In order for correlation to occur, the case of the class definitions in the Shared Objects to Correlate box must match the class definitions as defined in the SmartPlant Foundation database.

  • The following list of classes is included in the Shared Objects to Correlate box by default.

    • SharedCable_PM

    • SharedControlSysIO

    • SharedElectricalPanel_PM

    • SharedEquipmentFoundation_PM

    • SharedEquipment_ACT

    • SharedEquipment_PM

    • SharedEquipment_TYP

    • SharedInstrument_PM

    • SharedPipeline

To find additional shared object definitions, search on SharedObjDef classes in the Schema Editor.

  • If the Shared Objects to Correlate box contains no value, the Correlate and Auto-Correlate workflows do not try to correlate any published objects.

Modify the SmartPlant Foundation Options

  1. Log on to the Desktop Client, and then click Find > Administration > SmartPlant Foundation Options.

  2. In the Name box, type SystemOptions, and click OK.

  3. Right-click SystemOptions, and click Update on the shortcut menu.

  4. In the Shared Objects to Correlate box under Integration option details, do one of the following:

    • Leave the default list of shared object definitions.

    • Type an * in the Shared Objects to Correlate box to correlate all published objects.

    • Type the comma-separated list of shared object definitions that you want to correlate in the Shared Objects to Correlate box.

      SPF Options Correlate

    • Remove all values from the Shared Objects to Correlate box to perform no correlations.

  5. Click Finish.
